• All tours are escorted throughout by
professional Tour Managers (exception being the Swiss Christmas and New
Year Break
which are non-escorted). Many of these professionals have been
specifically escorting these Christmas tours for years. They appreciate
the level of service we demand from them and they perform to our
exacting standards. We ensure their professionalism by including their
end of tour tips within our listed tour price!
• NO optional excursion lists - Our tours are so very inclusive. There
are NO hidden, lengthy expensive option lists. Did you know most regular
'Off the Shelf' glossy European tour brochures require you to budget
over AUD$100 a day, extra, for scheduled, pre-determined optional
excursions? Over 10 days, or so, this would exceed over AU$ 1,000 per
person. We believe these 'hidden extras', day excursions and highlights
to be entirely predictable costs. We have therefore included them in our
programmes. Our tours represent incredible, inclusive value.
• Included Meals - All breakfasts are included and have been upgraded
to buffet standard throughout with English
breakfasts in London. Virtually all evening meals are included, many of
which are very special such as Christmas
Eve dinner, Christmas turkey lunch, a highlight dinner in a 500 year old
Vienna restaurant (Austrian White
Christmas)…the list goes on.
• Our Tours are not summer tours 'run over winter'. These itineraries
are designed specifically for the European Winter season
(shorter daylight hours - therefore shorter driving distances, passenger
comfort) Albatross capture the very essence and magic of a traditional
European or Canadian Christmas and Festive New Year. To that end the
touring pace is more leisurely with 2 and 3 night stops in many places
and 4 or 5 night breaks over Christmas. NO moving hotels, long drives or
inter-city touring on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve so you
can really enjoy the occasions. We know this is very important!
• Particular care has been taken to build into the itinerary (and
include) some very special events and activities that will bring alive
the nostalgia and romance of the Festive Season from snow-bound sleigh
rides, Christmas markets, medieval cities and mulled wine with ginger
biscuits! These are not 'tours run over Christmastime'...they are
Christmas tours! The difference is significant!
• Your Hotels have been selected for their style to complement the tour
and the season - from 500 year old Alpine
Gasthofs to 800 year old Inns. (see page 4 for more details). Their
location is superb - perhaps in a charming Tyrolean Village in Austria
or maybe in the village below Neuschwanstein Fairytale Castle. We
believe that the style and location is essential as they will be your
home for 4 or 5 nights over Christmas!
